Amey’s Taxi starts second century With new owners, same great service

January 9, 2025 (Kingston) – With the retirement of the owner Mark Greenwood in December 2024, ownership of Amey’s Taxi and Garage Operations has been transferred to Coventry Connections.

“The Kingston community can continue to rely upon Amey’s for the same great service it has provided for over 100 years,” says Mark Greenwood, long-time owner/operator of Amey’s Greenwood Taxi. “We are pleased to know that our great customers and staff will be in the capable hands of Coventry Connections, now and in the future.”

“At Coventry, we have a very clear understanding that ‘all successful Taxi businesses are local,’ and we consider Amey’s understanding of the Kingston community to be the most important aspect of this development,” says Marc André Way, CEO of Coventry Connections.

“Coventry is also a family-owned business, and we have known Amey’s Taxi and the Greenwood Family for decades. We appreciate that Amey’s is in a unique position offering a large, service-oriented, friendly fleet. We want to assure everyone, it will be ‘business as usual’: Amey’s staff will continue their employment with Coventry, and all legal obligations of Amey’s will be honoured by Coventry.”

Amey’s will continue to support the wide variety of community groups and charities to which it has contributed in past years.

The Amey’s Taxi app is available for download at both the Google and Apple app stores, and Amey’s dial-in number remains 613-546-1111.
